NEPGA is the largest trade association representing competitive electric generating companies in New England. NEPGA’s member companies represent approximately 27,000 megawatts (MW) of generating capacity in the region. NEPGA’s mission is to promote sound energy policies which will further economic development, jobs, and balanced environmental policy. We believe that sustainable competitive markets are the best means to provide long-term reliable and affordable supplies of electricity for consumers. RECENT PRESS RECENT FILINGS/TESTIMONY May 16, 2012- NEPGA submitted a Motion to Intervene and Comments supporting ISO-NE's Forward Capacity Market conforming changes for full integration of Price-Responsive Demand under Docket No. ER12-1627. May 15, 2012- NEPGA submitted a brief at the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals under Docket No. 11-1422 (Devon Power) arguing contract certainty for auction and negotiated rates. May 1, 2012- NEPGA sent a letter to Senator Susan Sosnowski, Chair of the Rhode Island Senate Committee on Environment, regarding House Bill 7592, East Bay Consortium Act. April 27, 2012- NEPGA filed a Motion to Intervene and Protest under Docket No. ER12-1455 regarding ISO-NE's proposed revisions to FCM rules intended to limit the information that is published before the Forward Capacity Auction. April 23, 2012- NEPGA submitted comments to the Connecticut Deparment of Energy and Environmental Protection regarding the development of the 2012 Comprehensive Energy Strategy. April 20, 2012- NEPGA sent comments to the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection’s in opposition to proposed efforts to reduce sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) emissions from gas-insulated switchgear (GIS).
